Dental implants

  • Dental implants

    DENTAL IMPLANTS
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants may be an option for people who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason.

    TYPES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS
Endosteal (in the bone): This is the most commonly used type of implant. The various types include screws, cylinders or blades surgically placed into the jawbone. Each implant holds one or more prosthetic teeth. This type of implant is generally used as an alternative for patients with bridges or removable dentures.
Subperiosteal (on the bone): These are placed on top of the jaw with the metal framework\'s posts protruding through the gum to hold the prosthesis. These types of implants are used for patients who are unable to wear conventional dentures and who have minimal bone height.

  • Dentures

    Full Dentures

Each affiliated Affordable Dentures practice wants you to have the best denture you can afford. That\'s why we offer several styles of full dentures, each with its own distinct advantages.

    Economy Dentures

The Economy Denture is the most affordable denture and is selected by many patients. It is processed by our on-site lab and individually fit for you. The dentist and lab technician will determine the size, shape and look of the teeth, based on your needs. The Economy Denture is available with same-day service.

    Custom Dentures

The Custom Denture is made with more expensive teeth for a more natural-looking denture. The denture teeth are set in a wax base so you may try them in to see how the denture will look before it is completed. You may make changes to suit you, consistent with your dental needs. After you have approved the look of your Custom Denture, the lab will custom finish your denture in the permanent acrylic base material. It\'s like designing your own smile!

The Custom Denture is often available the same day, however in some cases it may take longer. The practice will inform you of their delivery times.

Crowns and Bridges

  • Crowns and Bridges

Bridges and crowns are fixed prosthetic devices that are cemented onto existing teeth or implants by a dentist or prosthodontist. Crowns are used most commonly to entirely cover or \"cap\" a damaged tooth or cover an implant. Bridges are commonly used to cover a space if you’re missing one or more teeth. They are cemented to natural teeth or implants surrounding the space where the tooth once stood.

    Benefits of BRIDGES & CROWNS

In addition to strengthening a damaged tooth, bridges and crowns can be used to improve a tooth’s appearance, shape, alignment and dental occlusion (bite). Gaps left by missing teeth can cause the remaining teeth to shift, which can result in a bad bite. Bridges and crowns help prevent this from happening.

Surgical removal of impacted tooth

  • Surgical removal of impacted tooth

Wisdom tooth removal usually is effective in preventing: Crowding of the back teeth. A wisdom tooth becoming stuck in the jaw (impacted) and never breaking through the gums. Red, swollen, and painful gums caused by a flap of skin around a wisdom tooth that has only partially come in.

Ortho treatment (Braces)

  • Ortho treatment (Braces)

Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening or moving teeth, to improve the appearance of the teeth and how they work. It can also help to look after the long-term health of your teeth, gums and jaw joints, by spreading the biting pressure over all your teeth.

Scaling and polishing

  • Scaling and polishing

Scaling & Polishing. Your dentist or hygienist will use a 'scale and polish' when your teeth require a thorough clean to remove all traces of plaque and tartar. Scaling is used to remove the hard tartar on your teeth, which cannot be removed by simply brushing your teeth.

Over-dentures

  • Over-dentures

Implant-Retained, Gum Supported. With this treatment, the overdenture rests directly on your gums and is retained by implants placed into your upper and/or lower jaw. The overdenture, which is removable, is secured to your implants through retentive attachments incorporated into the denture.

Obturators

  • Obturators

A palatal obturator is a prosthesis that totally occludes an opening such as an oronasal fistula (in the roof of the mouth). They are similar to dental retainers, but without the front wire.

FIXED TEETH (F.P.D)

  • FIXED TEETH (F.P.D)

Crown is a type of FPD that covers prepared axial surfaces of the tooth and is bonded to the tooth by using dental cement. It is used where there are extensive areas of defective axial tooth structure, or if there is need to modify contours to refine occlusion or improve esthetics. There are many different methods of crown fabrication, each using a different material: metal-ceramic crowns, all ceramic crowns, acrylic crowns. Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns (PFMs, metal ceramic crowns) have a metal frame that provides strong compression and tensile strength, and the porcelain gives the crown a white tooth-like appearance. Optical properties of metal free restorations ( all ceramic crowns) can reproduce even more natural aesthetics . Acrylic crowns are used as temporary restorations.
